Robert Atwood "Bob" Sanders of Hawkins, Texas, died December 2002 . He was born March 27, 1918, in St. Louis, Mo., and served in the Navy during World War II. He lived in St. Louis before moving to Hawkins 11 years ago. He was a carpentar and member of the United Church of God.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Shirley Willis Sanders of Hawkins; stepsons David Mooney, Gilmer, and Kelvin Mooney, Centerville, Mo.; stepdaughters Carol Pendley, Big Sandy, and Eva Mooney, Scott, La.; sisters Nona Griffin and Juanita Delworth; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Sanders was buried at Paron Cemetery in Wood County. Pallbearers included John Ambrosavage, Dixon Cartwright, David Mooney, Derbert Mooney, Ellis Stewart and Jim Walding. The service was officiated by Frank McCrady.
