Barney 'Reid' Coulson died at his home in Edgewood on March 14th, 2005 at the age of 72 after a long illness. Born in Carroll County, Va., in 1932, he was the sixth child and only son of the late Barney Stanford Coulson and Lucy Harris Coulson. He attended the
Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore and worked as an artist-illustrator for most of his life until his disability retirement in 1987. Reid and his wife have been closely associated with several 7th-day Sabbatarian groups in the
Baltimore-Washington, D.C., area since the 1960s. Reid is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie, two sons, Leslie Keith Coulson of
Edgewood, Richard Mark Coulson of Joppa, a daughter, Lisa Michele Russell of Dundalk, and four grandchildren, Jason and Ricky Coulson and Anthony and Ashley Russell. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Gillespie of Edgewood, and predeceased by
sisters, Gloria Carter of Bel Air, Md. Alene Carter of Mocksville, N.C., Evelyn Bullock of Edgewood, Md., and Juanita Boger of Greensboro, N.C. Burial was at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Bird River Road, Baltimore County. Gary Staszak, Sabbatarian
