James Robert "Bob" Worthen died Tuesday, June 28th 2005. He was born on March 7, 1929, in Houston, Texas, to the late James
Thomas and Ima Smith Worthen. He graduated from Conroe High School in 1946. He was a brick mason for 60 years. He received a gold card from the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army
1954-1956. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen, and their sons and daughters-in-law, the Honorable James T. "Jim" and Laura Worthen
of Big Sandy; Robert W. and Lisa Worthen of Texarkana; Perry M. and Nancy Worthen of Big Sandy; S. Forrest Worthen of Big Sandy; and daughter and son-in-law, Sarah A. and Michael Wilson of Big Sandy. He is further survived by grandson, Wesley
Worthen of Longview; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Scarlet and James Ellis of Longview; grandsons, Mark Worthen and Wynn Worthen of Big Sandy; and granddaughter, Christine Wilson of Big Sandy; along with one great-granddaughter, Arielle
Worthen. He is also survived by four brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Betty Worthen of Conroe; Marvin and Marcell Worthen of Tyler; Thomas and Barbara Worthen of Woodinville, Wash.; and Nathan and Pat Worthen of Lufkin,
Texas. He is preceded in death by their daughter, Marietta, and his parents. Bob was a member of the Worldwide Church of God for the past
53 years and served as deacon for over 30 years. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. |
