Frederick "Fred" Duane Peace of Eureka Springs, Ark., died of heart failure Oct. 12, 2010, at a hospital in Fayetteville. He was 70. Born in Niles, Mich., he was the oldest son of Frederick and Arbella Peace, deceased. Fred grew up on a farm in Iowa and attended the University of Iowa, where he completed a master's degree in business. He was conferred with a Ph.D in marketing from American International University. After living and working many years in the Los Angeles area, Fred suffered a stroke in 2001 and relocated to Arkansas with the assistance of his brother Jon (now deceased) and Twyla Peace. Survivors include two sons, Dustin of Chico, Calif., and Roderick and his wife, Lana, and their sons, Daniel and Alex of Bozeman, Mont.; three sisters, Sharon Branstater, Cheryl Carlson and Karen Carvalho; and sister-in-law Twyla Pease of Eureka Springs. |

James Keith Thornhill, formerly of American Falls, Utah, passed away quietly in his sleep March 19, 2011, at his home in Sandy, Utah, at the age of 73. He was cremated at his request. There was a celebration of Jim's life May 1 at the Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy, where in lieu of flowers the family had requested that you donate to your favorite charity, drink your favorite beer and play a round of golf. Joseph Reed Clayton, 84, of Rockmart, Ga., died March 22, 2011. Joe is survived by his wife, Ruby, and two daughters, Lin and Jill, and two grandchildren. Syd Hull, 76, of Johannesburg, South Africa, died March 13, 2011. Mr. Hull had been a member of the Worldwide Church of God, Living Church of God and Restored Church of God. |
Wiley Thaddeus "Thad" Russell, 58, of Lufkin, Texas, was born Jan. 15, 1953, in Lufkin to the late Susie Murel (Goodman) and Arta Russell. He died April 13, 2011, in Pennsylvania from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. Mr. Russell was a truck driver for Maverick Transportation and had lived in Lufkin most of his life. Thad was a wonderful, true-to-life, one-of-a-kind man who touched many lives. He enjoyed music of all kinds, telling jokes, showing off the latest family pictures and swapping sports stories from yesteryear. He loved competing in truck-driving competitions, where he held the national title on several occasions. While trucking was his passion, his family was his world.
Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn Russell of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Laura Russell of Tomball, Texas; daughter, Jenna Murel Russell of Lufkin; grandson, J.B. James S. Lamb Sr., 84, of Huntsville, Ala., died Feb. 15, 2011. Mr. Lamb was born Sept. 7, 1926, and was the former owner and operator of James Lamb Insurance Agency. He was honored by the National Directory of Who's Who and was vice president of the Intercontinental Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; two sons, James S. Lamb Jr. and wife Glenda and Terry Michael Lamb; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. |

Michael Elroy Kottke, 53, of Leslie, Ark., passed away at his home on March 7, 2011. He was born on March 17, 1957, in York, Neb., to Gene Kottke and Janet (Rich) Kottke. Mike was a man who walked with great faith. Farming was his life's passion. He was a talented man who enjoyed writing and oil painting. He enjoyed playing and listening to Celtic music. Mike was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Nora Bell Blum and Irene Rich; and his uncle, Don Rich, and Don's wife, Sara.
Survivors include his wife, Pamala Marie (Pierce) Kottke of the home; his parents, Gene and Janet Kottke of Palestine, Texas; one son, Karson Kottke of Leslie; two daughters, Heidi Kottke of Clinton and Gretchen Parent and husband Kevin of Leslie; four grandchildren, Tristan Kottke, Rebecca Kottke, Alexis Parent and Wyatt Parent, all of Leslie; one sister, Kathy Finley and husband Larry of Palestine, Texas; Aunt Marilyn and Glen of Gladewater, Texas, and Uncle Meryl Rich and wife Cheryl of Omaha, Neb. Michael Lamont Schulz, 27, of Duenweg, Mo., passed away April 5, 2011, as a result of injuries sustained in an accident. Michael was born Feb. 24, 1984, in Springfield, Mo. He had worked in the construction business, where he was a foreman. He was a devoted family man and loving father, son, brother and uncle who was willing to help anyone.

Thelma Earnestine Van Orsdol, 92, of Gainesville, Texas, died April 18, 2011. Thelma Van Orsdol was born Thelma Earnestine Putz, Nov. 19, 1918, in Sapulpa, Okla., to Leo Ernest William and Etta Geraldine Putz. She married Clifford Frederick "Ted" Van Orsdol July 25, 1935, in Stroud, Okla. She attended the Hope Community Fellowship church in The Colony, Texas. Thelma loved her daughters and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Christian who taught her children to love God and His Word.

Lawrence E. Stoner, 71, of Lewisburg, Ohio, passed away April 20, 2011. He was born Oct. 1, 1939, in Dayton to the late Arthur and Florence Stoner. Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his infant son, Donald Stoner; and sister, Laurice Stoner.
