Marjorie E. Richards, 75, of the Donaldson, Ind., area died Aug. 23 after a brief and unexpected illness. Mrs. Richards was a devoted member of the United Church of God. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Sr., three sons, Robert C. Jr. and spouse Barbara of Plymouth, Jerry A. Richards of Donaldson and John C. and spouse Lee Ann of Blowing Rock, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Rob Richards III, Glenn Goss, Brian Goss, Nikki Kennedy, Jerry Richards Jr., Brittany Richards, John Ryan Richards, Michael C. Richards and David Chance Richards; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur and Robert Stoddard; a sister, Doris Cropp; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Aug. 27 with Vernon Hargrove officiating.
Jack Williams, an elder from a Mena, Ark., congregation, died Aug. 27 after struggling with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Mr. Williams was a faithful elder who served the church in Oregon, Oklahoma and Arkansas. He now awaits the fulfillment of the next holy day, the Feast of Trumpets, when the dead in Christ will rise first at the blowing of the Seventh Trumpet. He is survived by his wife, Wilma, and four children. Mrs. Williams receives mail at P.O. Box 155, Muse, OK 74949.
Nancy M. Bruhn, most recently of Gilmer, Texas, died Aug. 19. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God and attended the Big Sandy congregation for many years. Mrs. Bruhn, a homemaker, was born June 1, 1941, in Omen, Texas. She was 65. Survivors include sons Albert Bruhn Jr., Big Sandy, Gary Bruhn, Gladewater, Texas, and Jeff Bruhn, Longview, Texas; daughters Sarah Gillen, Texarkana, Texas, Catherine Morris, Beverly Hills, Calif., and Alisa Harris, Gilmer, Texas; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Wainwright, Fairfield, Calif.; and a brother, David Hanson, Ore City, Texas. Graveside services were conducted by Paul Smith and Stanley West at Gladewater Memorial Park. |
