A member of the Church of God
an International Community
who was featured in an article
in The Journal's Aug. 31, 2005, issue
was murdered in Metairie, a city near
New Orleans, La., May 22, 2006.
Alessandra Sandra Adams, 51,
was with her son and a friend of her
son at Lafreniere Park around 9 p.m.,
reported The Times-Picayune, a New
Orleans newspaper.
She and the two men separated,
with her walking along the trail and
the other two jogging.
The men did not see Mrs. Adams
again until the next morning at 6:30
after her abused body was found in a
gravel lot about a half mile away.
Jefferson Parish sheriffs deputies
said they were seeking a 25-year-old Mexican citizen, Edmundo Cerda-Anima, on a first-degree-murder charge
in the killing of Mrs. Adams. The announcement
came
after sheriffs deputies
impounded
a vehicle they
were seeking in
connection with
the killing.
An autopsy
indicated Mrs.
Adams suffered
multiple bluntforce
trauma
from being hit
by a vehicle.
The Journal's article in August reported
on damage from Hurricane Katrina,
including Mrs. Adams residence
Sandra Adams and the residence of her mother, Miriam
Boyce of Slidell, La., who attends
with the Worldwide Church of God. |
