Australian murdered; husband charged

MUDGEERABA, Australia -A member of the Worldwide Church of God was found murdered June 18 in her home here. Police say Gay Elizabeth Lock, 53, died from a single blow to the head.

Mrs. Lock's husband, Russ, reported her death to police. Three days later Mr. Lock, a computer programmer and employee of the WCG at Burleigh Heads, was charged in the murder.

The Worldwide News, the WCG member newspaper, quoted WCG regional director Rod Matthews:

"We will share the family's grief and will continue to do all we can to extend spiritual, emotional and physical support to all involved through this extremely difficult time."
