Come to Mystic for the Feast of Tabernacles

MYSTIC, Conn.--The Northeast Church of God has announced a Feast of Tabernacles site at Mystic, in southeastern Connecticut.

"While it is primarily designed for those unable to travel, visitors are certainly welcome," said an organizer, Rodger Sandsmark of Simsbury, Conn.

Mystic is the home of attractions such as Mystic Seaport, Village and Aquarium and a state-of-the-art American Indian museum.

Rhode Island attractions including Newport and Block Island are nearby. Golfing, deep-sea fishing and windjammer cruises are close by as well, and the weather at this time of year is at its prime, said Mr. Sandsmark.

The Providence airport is about one hour away and is served by Southwest Airlines. Bradley Airport is also convenient, and Mystic has its own Amtrak station.

"It will be a traditional site," said Mr. Sandsmark, "held from Friday evening, Sept. 24, through Oct. 2."

Besides familiar hymns, "we will be using Mark Graham's new hymnal," Mr. Sandsmark said.

"We will be primarily using the Residence Inn by Marriott with the special rate for one-bedroom suite at $119 a night for eight days. This includes a full breakfast, some light dinners and other amenities.

Call the inn at (860) 536-5150 and ask for Northeast Church of God rates.

For those desiring only a room, the Comfort Inn is across the street and will also have special rates with breakfast. Call (860) 572-8531.

"Come join us!" encouraged Mr. Sandsmark.
