Guardian, UCM to sponsor Feast site PASADENA, Calif..--Guardian Ministries of Pasadena, Calif., and United Christian Ministries of Birmingham, Ala., will jointly pastor a Feast of Tabernacles site that will observe the traditional festival calendar, which has the Feast this year beginning the evening of Sept. 24. Guardian founder David Antion and UCM founder Ray Wooten will serve as cohosts of the site at Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort near Oxnard, Calif. "This is midway between Malibu and Santa Barbara tucked away in the Channel Islands area and provides an ideal place for both services and fellowship," Dr. Antion said Feb. 19. "It is a seaside setting that is both invigorating and inspiring. There are miles of sandy beaches, two harbors, championship golf courses, and the majestic Channel Islands National Park." People planning for this fall's Feast can reserve (up until May 1) 100 two-room suites, each complete with refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, two televisions, two marble baths, two two-line phones and living and dining areas. Special features include free accommodations for children under 18; a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast every day; a reception that includes free beverages each evening; tennis courts; bicycle rentals; golf courses; fishing; boating, snorkeling; and shopping. "And best of all," said Dr. Antion, "we were able to negotiate very favorable group rates. For one or two adults the nonview suites--and all suites are identical regardless of view--are $109 per night on weekdays and $129 per night weekends. Garden-view rooms are $119 weekdays and $139 weekends. These rates are regularly $179." Because each room has two bathrooms and the couch in the living room makes into a queen-size bed, several people could share one suite by paying an additional charge of $15 for each additional adult more than two. "We are working on a dynamic speaking schedule and mini-discussion groups, a Sabbath program for children and youth activities," Dr. Antion said. To make reservations call (800) 984-2500 and mention you are with the Church of God retreat. Or write Dr. Antion at P.O. Box 50734, Pasadena, Calif. 91115, U.S.A. |
