Notes and quotes Bertie Zimmerman dies PHOENIX, Ariz.-Bertie Zimmerman, wife of Dr. Clint Zimmerman, longtime minister in the Church of God, died peacefully here the Sabbath of Feb. 22. She was 72. Her funeral was Feb. 25 in Phoenix. Oklahoma radio grows TULSA, Okla.-A radio program produced by Lawrence Gregory, pastor of the independent Tulsa Church of God, part of the affiliation called the Churches of God, continues to add stations. Mr. Gregory produces the weekly 30-minute program with the help of several members of his congregation. His programs began last spring on a five-station network that covers two thirds of the state. "There is no personal name used on the program," said Mr. Gregory, "and the only address given is in the trailer at the end of the program." Mr. Gregory can supply the broadcast to others who would like to air it in their areas with or without the trailer. "When in late 1996 Global cut its 1997 budget to avoid a shortfall, the traditional annual headquarters conference for the entire ministry, including international ministers, was canceled for 1997," said Larry Salyer, editorial director for Global. "However, three conferences in the U.S. were planned. The Western conference was held at headquarters in San Diego in February. In March, the Southern and Southeastern regions combined for a conference in Louisville, Miss."
