Josey Ann Ladnier Allen

Jon and Rebekah Allen of Tyler, Texas, announce the birth of their daughter, Josey Ann Ladnier Allen. She was born April 13, 2007, weighing 7 lbs. 2 ozs. and was 19.75 inches long. Josey is welcomed by her two brothers, Marcus, 9, and Jacob, 6. Grandparents are John and Darlene Warren of Big Sandy and Edward Allen and the late Carol Allen of Tyler.

Marjorie Sharp

Marjorie Fay Sharp, 74, of Big Sandy, Texas, died April 15. Born Dec. 24, 1932, in Cook County, Texas, Mrs. Sharp was a member of the Church of God Big Sandy.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Richard Lee Sharp, and his wife, Sandra; a daughter, Nancy Ann Sharp; grandchildren Joshua Sharp, Melissa Defur, April Barrow, Sabra Hann, Chance Jordan, Robin Mollow and Aaron Booher; great-grandchildren Daniel Sharp, Hunter Sharp, Landon Sharp, Destinie Defur, Kelsie Defur, Elizabeth Sharp, Joseph Khader, Victoria Khader, Kendall Hann, Jodie Rohall, Taylor Jordan, Christopher Sharp and Justin Sharp; a brother, Troy Booher; and a sister-in-law, Anna Booher.

Mrs. Sharp's family receives mail in care of her daughter Nancy Sharp at 406 Robinson St., Big Sandy, Texas 75755, U.S.A.

Graduation

Mark Fisher

Mark Fisher is salutatorian of Big Sandy High School, where he participated in numerous extracurricular activities and held student offices including serving as vice president of the senior class.

Mark is also president of the Church of God Big Sandy's youth group. He enjoys practicing martial arts. In 2005 he traveled to South Korea to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Moo Duk Kwan, the martial-arts organization.

He plans to attend Texas Tech and major in mechanical engineering.

Obituary

Mabel Woodring

Mabel Woodring of Bullard, Texas, passed away April 27, 2007, in a Tyler hospital with her husband, Henry, her three children and her grandchildren by her side.

Mabel is survived by her husband of 58 years, Henry Woodring; her daughter, Cathy Smith; and her two sons, Gary Woodring and Wayne Woodring; her son-in-law, Russell Smith of Seattle, Wash.; her daughters-in-law, Joanne Woodring and Carolyn Woodring, both of Tyler; her six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Achievement

Wayne Weese

Church of God member Wayne Weese of Big Sandy, Texas, was elected mayor of Big Sandy May 12, 2007. For an article on Mr. Weese's election, see page 1 of this issue of The Journal.

Mabel was born in North Carolina March 16, 1931, and is also survived by triplet sisters, Essie Mullett of Lenoir, N.C., and Bessie New and Lessie Haney, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; and by her brother, David Lewis of Knoxville, Tenn.

Mabel will always be remembered for her love for God, her service to others, her incredible work ethic and her unconditional love for her family.
